Payroll Specialist – NY Business Unit

Job Summary: The Payroll Specialist, NYBU is primarily responsible for the coordination, execution and relationship management of Sandata’s New York customer accounts as pertains to payroll products and services. The Payroll Specialist will serve as a key liaison between Sandata and its payroll provider affiliates (including its current primary affiliate, PayPro Corporation). S/he also be asked to work on non-payroll NYBU customer-related projects from time to time.

Duties:

  • Master vast !knowledge of customers’ payroll functions, challenges and opportunities
  • Maintain expertise of NYS and Federal labor regulations affecting home care agencies, in part by keeping up with relevant websites, newsletters and bulletins, and by attending webinars and conferences
  • Maintain catalog of payroll services and products provided by Sandata, in some cases via its third­ party payroll provider affiliates
  • Liaise with key payroll providers and manage regular meetings with them; currently, our key payroll partner is PayPro Corporation
  • Open tickets on customers’ payroll inquiries and manage to completion
  • Document business requirements and communicate these to internal and external audiences
  • Use Excel to perform analysis and run reports
  • Analyze customer payroll performance on a regular basis and develop methods to improve Sandata payroll offering and prevent turnover
  • Maintain all customer payroll schedules
  • Conduct webinars and user group meetings, where you will demonstrate Sandata payroll and other products and services
  • Produce customer-facing documentation such as instructional notices, forms, educational content and presentations
  • Prepare email communications and coordinate distribution to our customers
  • Assist in the sale (both new sales and “up-sells”) of payroll and other products to our customers
  • Contribute to other NYBU projects, which at times may not relate to payroll, as needed

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience in the healthcare/homecare sector
  • Technical and functional understanding of payroll processes, as pertains to the New York healthcare/homecare environment
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Healthcare billing experience helpful but not required
  • Strong proficiency with MS Excel
  • Deep analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Keen ability to resolve issues in a timely fashion
  • Fast learner with ability to multi-task
  • Willingness to travel regionally within the NY area

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:Daily activities of an administrative nature, with some travel.
