Mr. Brodsky devoted his career to advancing numerous industries including healthcare technology, real estate and hospitality. In particular, Mr. Brodsky was an industry visionary when he led the introduction of EVV to the homecare industry. Mr. Brodsky graduated from City College of New York with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Economics in 1964, and in 2011, he received an honorary degree as Doctor of Humane Letters.
The Lillian D. Wald award is in honor of the founder of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, which originated in 1893. Lillian was one of the most influential and celebrated pioneers in the history of nursing, social work and civil rights. Each year, the Lillian D. Wald Award is presented to those who have made significant contributions to the health and welfare of others. This year, at the 2017 VNSNY Benefit, “Together, we can make a difference”, VNSNY recognized Mr. Brodsky for his contributions to VNSNY and to the homecare industry.
VNSNY is committed to meeting the healthcare needs of New Yorkers with compassionate, high-quality home health care. VNSNY is the largest not-for-profit home- and community-based health care organization in the United States. As the founder of Sandata Technologies, Mr. Brodsky has supported VNSNY and the homecare industry for over 3 decades, and is honored to accept this significant award. Accepting the award, Mr. Brodsky noted the foresight of VNSNY as they adopted Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) in 1994, well ahead of the federal mandate for EVV that was signed into law in 2016.
