SANDATA TECHNOLOGIES PRIVACY STATEMENT
Sandata Technologies, LLC believes that privacy is essential to the success and utility of the Internet. This statement sets forth Sandata’s Privacy Statement and describes the practices that Sandata will follow with respect to privacy of users of its website and its mobile applications (collectively, the “Application”). We understand that certain data is personal. Sandata is committed to protecting all personal information collected and maintained by the Application. This Privacy Statement applies to all of the information we receive and maintain. By using our Applications, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Statement. From time to time, this Privacy Statement may change. For example, as we update and improve our products and services, new features may require modifications to the Privacy Statement.
What Information is Collected? In order to provide our services, we may collect certain personal information about our users.
Sandata may collect the following information:
- Location information including GPS latitude and longitude at the start and end of a visit. Location is ONLY collected at these two points in time. We do not track the movement of our users at any time
- Start and end date and time of the visit
- Employee identification
- Client identification
- Health care informationMember approval of times, service and/or tasks at point of care, including member signature
- Language selection
- Biometric data to validate identity
- Device model/version
Sandata does not utilize the camera function on mobile devices for any reason and does not utilize the microphone on mobile devices other than for voice validation purposes at the time of verification. Provided there is no cellular or Wi-Fi signal, Sandata may store the above-referenced information on a mobile device temporarily (in an encrypted form). Once a signal is established, such data is then deleted from the device.
We also may collect information through the use of “cookies”, tracking pixels, and similar technologies to understand how you navigate through the Application and interact with advertisements, to learn what content is popular, and to save your preferences. Cookies are small text files that web servers place on your device; they are designed to store basic information and to help websites and apps recognize your browser. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be accessed every time you use the Application. You should consult your web browser(s) to modify your cookie settings. Please note that if you delete or choose not to accept cookies from us, you may be missing out on certain features of the services we provide.
How We Use the Information We Collect
We use the information we collect from all users to:
- Identify the location of the start and end of a visit
- Associate the correct worker with the visit
- Associate the correct client/recipient with the visit
- Complete timesheets to allow for proper billing and payroll
- Allow communications between health care providers and their remote caregivers and other employees
- Provide health care providers with information regarding their members’ current status
- Provide, improve, expand, and promote the Application and other services we provide;
- Analyze how our end users use the Application
- Communicate with you, either directly or through one of our partners, including for marketing and promotional purposes
- Send you text messages and push notifications
- Provide you with customer support
- Work with third party service providers to provide additional services on our behalf
Sandata may also disclose information in special cases when we have a good faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with legal requirements; (b) defend and protect company property; (c) enforce the Web Site Terms and Conditions of Use; or (d) protect the interests of our users or others.
Information for Children Under 13
The Application is not designed for or targeted at children. Sandata will not knowingly collect and maintain personally identifiable information from children 13 years of age or younger.
How do we protect your information?
We are painstaking in our efforts to protect your personally identifiable information. This includes, among other things, using firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection and site monitoring. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so despite our efforts, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from us.
Internally, we will restrict access to your personally identifiable information to employees who need access to the information in order to do their jobs. These employees are committed to our privacy policies.
As a provider of services to the healthcare industry, Sandata has implemented programs to address the transaction standards, and the privacy and security implications of the rules promulgated pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”).
How can you help protect your information?
If you are using the Sandata Application for which you registered and chose a password, we recommend that you never divulge your password to anyone. We will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited manner. Also remember to sign out of the Application and close your browser window when you have finished working. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if others have access to your computer or mobile device.
The Sandata website may contain links to other websites, including those of our business partners. The policies described in this Privacy Statement apply solely to information collected by Sandata’s website. While we seek to link only to sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, links to other sites are beyond our control.
